FAQ

Psychotherapy, therapy, and counseling are terms used in the mental health profession to describe the process therapists use to help you to feel better.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
How long does therapy take?
Therapy takes a different amount of time for everyone depending on your needs. We will work together to determine your goals and have an open dialogue about when and how best to end therapy.
Do you accept my insurance?
I am not in network, however I am happy to provide you with a Super Bill (invoice) to provide your insurance company for reimbursement. I always suggest giving your insurance company a call and inquiring about your mental health coverage prior to scheduling so there are no surprises.
How do you handle payment for services?
Payment is expected at the time of service. Payments may be made via cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover Card, and American Express. Services are also typically FSA or HSA eligible, if you have one of these accounts please check to see if counseling is a covered service.
What is your cancellation policy?
Appointments must be cancelled 48 hours prior to appointment whenever possible. Late cancellations and no-show appointments will be billed at the full fee.
